What it is

"Clown" is a song by Scottish singer Emeli Sandé from her debut album Our Version of Events (2012), released as a single in 2013. It draws on her early meetings with music industry figures while she was trying to get signed, when she felt they did not know what to make of her. Sandé said the song is about not letting yourself be judged by others or taken for a fool.
