What it is
"I'm Still Standing" is a 1983 synth-pop single by Elton John from the album Too Low for Zero, written with lyricist Bernie Taupin. Taupin wrote the lyric as a kiss-off to a former girlfriend, a declaration of having come through a relationship intact. He has said many listeners instead hear it as an anthem of Elton John's own resilience, a reading he welcomes.
