What it is
"Wavin' Flag" is a song by Somali-Canadian artist K'naan from his 2009 album Troubadour, originally written about Somalia and its people's hopes for freedom. Coca-Cola later chose it as its promotional anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. A remixed "Celebration Mix" added football-themed lyrics and a more upbeat tone, and that version became a global hit.
