Robert Smith wrote a deliberately sunny pop song about the mood lifting as the week moves toward Friday.
"Friday I'm in Love" is a 1992 jangle-pop single by The Cure from their album Wish, written primarily by Robert Smith. It is a playful song about the drag of the week giving way to the lift of Friday and being in love. Smith called it a deliberately naive, happy pop song and an upbeat counterbalance to the band's gloomy image.
