Hospice is a concept album set in a cancer hospital, told by a hospice worker caring for a terminally ill patient, and Kettering is where he arrives at her bedside.
"Kettering" is the second track on The Antlers' 2009 concept album Hospice, which follows a hospice worker and a patient with terminal bone cancer through her decline. The song is named after Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where the album is set, and its alternate title in the liner notes is "Bedside Manner." Sharon Van Etten sings on the track.
