Listen to this when
Some goodbyes come with relief too. That doesn't mean you loved them any less. 🕊️
The song works as a eulogy, wishing a loved one rest after a hard life, which gives mourners words for goodbye when their own won't come.
"Go Rest High on That Mountain" is a eulogy ballad written and performed by Vince Gill, produced by Tony Brown, with backing vocals by Ricky Skaggs and Patty Loveless, from the album When Love Finds You and released as a single in August 1995. Gill began writing it after country singer Keith Whitley died in 1989 and finished it after his brother Bob died of a heart attack in 1993.
