Listen to this when
When you've seen love from both sides and you're still not sure what it is. That's okay. ☁️ #BothSidesNow
The song walks the same subjects, clouds, love and life, through a hopeful view and then a disillusioned one, which models holding two perspectives at once instead of collapsing into one.
"Both Sides, Now" is a song by Joni Mitchell, first recorded by Judy Collins in 1967 and recorded by Mitchell on her 1969 album Clouds. Mitchell said she began writing it on a plane while reading Saul Bellow's Henderson the Rain King and looking out at the clouds.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music (widely available). Also widely available in later versions (including Mitchell's 2000 orchestral re-recording), so specify the 1969 Clouds version.
