Minari grows anywhere. So do families that choose each other. 🌱
Minari portrays the everyday pressures of an immigrant family starting over: money worries, isolation, a sick child and a marriage strained by a father's farming dream.
Lee Isaac Chung's drama follows a South Korean immigrant family who move from California to rural Arkansas in the 1980s, where the father, Jacob, hopes to farm Korean produce for profit. His wife, Monica, struggles with their mobile home, the isolation and worry over their young son David's heart condition. Jacob's mother, Soon-ja, arrives from Korea to help with the children, and David slowly warms to her.
