Kubo learned that the people we lose don't disappear. They live in the stories we carry. 🏮
Kubo is a child who is already a caregiver: he looks after a mother who is withdrawn and distant by day, and he fills the gap left by a father he never knew with stories.
In this stop-motion animated film from Laika, directed by Travis Knight, Kubo is a one-eyed boy who cares for his ailing mother in a mountain cave. He earns money in a nearby village by making origami come to life with his magical shamisen. After he stays out past sunset, his mother's warnings come true: he is forced to flee and go on a quest for his late father's magical armor.
