What it is
Steve James's documentary follows William Gates and Arthur Agee, two African-American teenagers from Chicago, for about five years starting in 1987 as they chase dreams of playing professional basketball. Both are recruited to St. Joseph High School, a mostly white suburban school with a strong basketball program, and commute about 90 minutes each way from their neighborhoods.
