Directed by Felix van Groeningen and based on the memoirs of David Sheff and his son Nic Sheff, the film follows David as he tries to help Nic through addiction to methamphetamine and other drugs. Nic moves through rehabilitation, periods of progress and repeated relapses, including after more than a year of sobriety, while David searches for answers and the strain grows on their family.
