What it is

Narrated largely by Nana, a former stray cat adopted by Satoru Miyawaki, this novel follows the pair as they travel across Japan in Satoru's silver van. They visit friends from different periods of Satoru's life in search of a new home for Nana, and the deeper reason behind the trip gradually comes to light. The book explores friendship and the bond between a person and an animal.
