What it is

Art Spiegelman's graphic novel, serialized in the magazine Raw from 1980 to 1991 and collected in two volumes, interweaves his father Vladek's account of surviving the Holocaust in Poland with the present-day story of Art interviewing him in New York. It depicts Jews as mice, Germans as cats and Poles as pigs.
